Our Altar Servers live out this call in a special way at the very heart of our worship: the Holy Mass. More than just assistants, our servers are active participants in the liturgy, offering their service as a prayer to God and a gift to our entire parish community. By serving at the altar, they learn firsthand what it means to put God and others first.
Here at Blessed Sacrament parish, our Altar Servers are entrusted with a special privilege: to serve at the very heart of our worship, the altar where Christ becomes truly present for us in the Eucharist. More than just assistants, our servers are active participants in the sacred liturgy, offering their time and attention as a prayer to God. By serving so close to the mystery of the Mass, they follow the call of Pope St. John Paul II to be "special friends of Jesus."
Here at St. Vincent de Paul parish, we follow our patron's example of seeing Christ in others, a mission that begins with our profound reverence for Christ's Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist. The Eucharist is the "source and summit" of our faith, the sacred meal that strengthens us for our mission of charity and service. The ministry of distributing this precious gift is therefore a sacred and humbling privilege.
