He Who Sings, Prays Twice
St. Augustine famously said that the one who sings, prays twice. Here at Blessed Sacrament, our Music Ministry is dedicated to this beautiful truth. Our mission is to lead and support our entire parish family in lifting their voices in prayer and praise. Sacred music is not a performance, but an integral part of our worship, helping to add beauty and solemnity to the Mass as we gather together to celebrate the Eucharist.
Our Choirs and Musicians
Our ministry is composed of dedicated parishioners—singers, cantors, and instrumentalists—who generously share their talents to enrich our liturgies. From the organ that swells in praise to the voices of the choir that guide our hymns, our musicians work together to lead the assembly's song. By doing so, they help every person in the congregation participate more fully, actively, and consciously in the sacred mysteries.
A Joyful Invitation to Join Us!
As summer ends and we begin a new season of praise this fall, we are joyfully seeking new members! Have you ever thought about sharing your voice? Do you play an instrument? Now is the perfect time to get involved. You don't need to be a professional musician—the only requirements are a love for the Lord, a desire to serve the parish, and a commitment to making a joyful noise!
Joining the Music Ministry is a wonderful way to deepen your experience of the Mass, learn more about our rich tradition of sacred music, and form lasting friendships with fellow parishioners. It is a commitment of time, but one that returns countless spiritual blessings.
If you feel a nudge from the Holy Spirit to share your musical gifts, we would love to hear from you. For more information about joining our choir or serving as an instrumentalist, please contact our Music Director, Mary Lynn Giacobbe, through the parish office or fill out the webform on this page.
