Confirmation: Empowered by the Spirit for a Life of Service
Answering the Call to Discipleship
Your journey of faith has led you to this powerful moment. The Church now asks: Are you ready to confirm the promises made for you at your Baptism? Are you ready to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a life of courageous service in the footsteps of our patron, St. Vincent de Paul?
Confirmation is not a graduation from your faith, but a commissioning for your mission. It is the moment you are sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and sent out to be a bold witness for Christ in the world.
What is Confirmation?
The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism. It is the moment when the Bishop, as a successor to the Apostles, lays hands on you, anoints you with sacred Chrism, and seals you with the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit.
These gifts—Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord—are the spiritual tools we need to live as active disciples. They strengthen us to see Christ in the poor, to speak the truth with love, and to act with charity and justice in our world, just as St. Vincent did.
Our Two-Year Journey of Preparation
Our Confirmation program is a dynamic journey designed to prepare you for this important step. Over two years, candidates will:
- Learn the Faith: Deepen your understanding of Scripture and Church teaching so you can confidently share and defend your faith.
- Serve the Community: Put your faith into action through meaningful service projects, discovering what it truly means to be the hands and feet of Christ.
- Grow in Prayer: Prepare your heart through prayer, retreats, and reflection to become a worthy vessel for the Holy Spirit.
- Walk with a Mentor: Choose a Sponsor—an active, confirmed Catholic—to guide you, pray for you, and be a role model on your journey.
Join the Journey! Registration is Now Open for 2025-2026
