The Ministry of Hospitality: The Face of Christ to All Who Enter
The first person a parishioner or visitor meets when they come to Mass can set the tone for their entire worship experience. The Ministry of Hospitality is the beautiful and essential role of being the "face of Christ" to all who walk through our doors. Our ushers and greeters live out the words of St. Paul, "Welcome one another, then, as Christ welcomed you, for the glory of God" (Romans 15:7).
More Than a Handshake and a Bulletin
This ministry is a vital act of service that helps our liturgies run with grace and order, allowing everyone to enter more deeply into prayer. Our ministers of hospitality do this by:
- Creating a Welcoming Atmosphere: Offering a warm smile and a friendly greeting that makes longtime parishioners feel cherished and new visitors feel right at home.
- Assisting the Assembly: Helping people find seating, gathering the community's offering, distributing bulletins, and ensuring a comfortable and prayerful environment for all.
- Being a Helpful Presence: Answering questions, assisting those with special needs, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the congregation.
