Our Mission: Beautiful and Reverent Worship
The Liturgy Committee at Blessed Sacrament is a dedicated group of parishioners who work prayerfully behind the scenes to enhance the spiritual life of our parish. Our mission is simple and profound: to ensure our celebrations of the Mass and sacraments are beautiful, reverent, and meaningful, helping every person who walks through our doors to encounter Christ more deeply, especially in the Holy Eucharist.
What We Do
As an advisory group to our pastor, the committee brings together the hearts and minds of parishioners who are passionate about the liturgy. Our work includes:
- Planning Our Liturgical Seasons: We carefully plan the beautiful details of our liturgical year, preparing our parish to fully enter into the sacred mysteries of Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter.
- Coordinating Ministries: We serve as a point of connection for all of our wonderful liturgical ministers—including lectors, musicians, altar servers, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion—to ensure we all work together in harmony.
- Guiding Our Prayer: We study the Church's rich traditions and wisdom for worship to ensure our parish's prayer life remains faithful, vibrant, and spiritually nourishing.
- Prayerful Reflection: We regularly and prayerfully reflect on our parish liturgies, always seeking ways to help our community participate more fully in our praise of God.
Serving on the Committee
The committee is composed of parishioners who represent the diverse ministries and life of our parish. The most important qualification is not expertise, but a deep love for the Mass and a collaborative spirit. We meet monthly to pray, plan, and discern the liturgical needs of our community.
