He Who Sings, Prays Twice
St. Augustine famously said, "He who sings, prays twice." Here at St. Vincent de Paul, our Music Ministry is dedicated to this beautiful truth. Our mission is to lead our parish family in lifting their voices in humble prayer and praise. Sacred music is an integral part of our worship, strengthening us with grace so we can go forth and serve others in the spirit of our patron.
Two Ways to Share Your Talents
Our parish is blessed with two distinct musical ensembles, each with its own unique style of praise. Whether your taste is for timeless hymns or uplifting contemporary songs, there is a place for you to share your gifts.
Traditional Choir (Saturdays at 4:00 PM) This choir enriches our Vigil Mass with the beauty of sacred classics and timeless hymns, typically accompanied by the organ. If you love the solemnity and rich heritage of traditional church music, this is the perfect group for you.
Folk Group (Sundays at 9:30 AM) This group brings a vibrant and uplifting spirit to our Sunday morning Mass, featuring contemporary songs of praise accompanied by guitars, piano, and other instruments. If you enjoy a more modern, acoustic style of worship, you will feel right at home here.
A Joyful Invitation to Join Us!
As our music season begins anew this fall, we are joyfully seeking new members for both of our groups! Have you ever thought about sharing your voice or musical talents as a gift to God and our parish? Now is the perfect time to get involved. You don't need to be a professional musician—the only requirements are a love for the Lord and a desire to serve.
Joining our Music Ministry is a wonderful way to deepen your experience of the liturgy and form lasting friendships. To learn more, please reach out to the director for the group that interests you:
