Peace & Justice Ministry: Living Our Vincentian Calling
Our patron, St. Vincent de Paul, dedicated his life to seeing the face of Christ in the poor and marginalized. Our Peace & Justice Ministry strives to continue this legacy by putting our Catholic faith into concrete action. Guided by the Gospel and the teachings of Pope Francis, we work to address the most pressing social issues of our time and live out our faith's call to charity and justice.
Our Work: Education, Action, and Prayer
We believe that a living faith must be a faith that acts. Our ministry focuses on three key areas:
- Educating: Through bulletin articles and parish discussions, we seek to raise awareness and form consciences on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, especially as they relate to the poor, migrants, refugees, and the care of creation.
- Acting: We take concrete steps to make a difference in our community, sponsoring local campaigns and collaborating with partners like the Interfaith Sanctuary Coalition to offer solidarity and support to our neighbors in need.
- Celebrating & Praying: We foster prayer and cultural solidarity within our parish. A beautiful example is our annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass and celebration, organized with our Hispanic members to honor the deep faith and rich culture of the communities we serve.
